Community Services
Stater consultants have extensive experience working with nonprofit organizations, especially in the areas of community development and homeownership. Our work includes everything from filing Form 1023 to obtain 501 (c)(3) nonprofit status to working with individual homeowners. If your plans include any area of community development, contact us today.
Community Development
Our special experience in the area of Community Development allows us to offer assistance in obtaining funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for low income housing, down payment assistance, housing for people with AIDS and more. State and local funding is also available but competition is strong. If community development is one of your focus areas, contact Stater to find out how we can help you obtain funding and increase capacity.
Nonprofits
Organizations seeking the nonprofit designation for tax purposes can obtain assistance from Stater in filing Form 1023 to become a 501 (c)(3) entity. Keep in mind that an organization can also seek 501(c)(4) status, which is common for non-religious social organizations, or many other designations. By working with Stater, we can help you determine which is right for you.
Form 1023
The IRS Form 1023 is one of a handful of forms required for obtaining nonprofit status. It is the longest and most important form and requires you to submit general information about the nature of your organization. This form was updated in 2006 and now has 26 pages and many new sections. Accuracy is very important because the data must be submitted to the IRS for approval and errors will cost you precious time.
